Shawn
concentrates his practice in the area of U.S. Federal income taxes,
international and domestic estate planning and corporate matters. He
devotes a large part of his practice to the U.S. Federal income tax
rules applicable to U.S. taxpayers doing business abroad, as well as
foreign persons passively investing in the United States or those
foreign persons who are looking to invest in more active business
opportunities. As part of his practice, Shawn is also involved in the
formation and operation of domestic and foreign business entities (such
as corporations, partnerships and limited liability companies), as well
as the drafting of domestic and foreign trusts. Furthermore, Shawn has
guided high net worth U.S. citizens and so-called “Green Card” holders
with respect to the U.S. Federal income and estate tax issues relevant
to relinquishing such status. Finally, Shawn is also experienced in
advising high net worth U.S. and foreign individuals with respect to
domestic and international estate planning matters.
